The Rio do Peixe Waterfalls are located about 33 km from Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul. This is one of the most breathtaking tours you can take in the region.
Upon arrival at the headquarters of the Água Viva farm, the visitor needs to hand in his tour voucher to the receptionist in charge.
After the tour guide's preliminary instructions regarding the walk, the tour itinerary starts in the morning and ends in the early afternoon. The visitor must be attentive to the information presented about the division of the groups and the timetable of each attraction.
The walk along the trail passes by wild animals, waterfalls, and natural pools, through which schools of fish can be observed. The return to the headquarters is made by the same trail. In the end, the visitor can still enjoy an appetizing lunch at the farm restaurant.
The Rio do Peixe tour is one of the pioneers in the ecotourism category, reserving a day full of nature for the visitor to enjoy.
Because it is a full-time tour, it is necessary that visitors set aside enough time to enjoy this Bonito/MS attraction. In addition, it is crucial that you enjoy bathing in waterfalls.
Whether for tourists coming from other Brazilian states or for foreigners coming from far away places - such as the Federated States of Micronesia or Costa Rica - the tour is worth every second.
Due to the conservation of Bonito's many natural wonders, there are a limited number of places to access the city's tours.
Knowing this, do not waste time: it is essential to prepare the itinerary of your trip as soon as possible.
After a strong breakfast, the visitor is invited to arrive at the attraction at 8 am, when the activities start in Rio do Peixe.
To begin the tour, the guide will accompany the visitor through a trail of more than 2,000 meters of the riparian forest of the Olaria River.
The tour to the Rio do Peixe waterfall is very well structured, with at least 9 stops for bathing.
The first stop on the tour is the Rio do Peixe waterfall, where tourists can refresh themselves in the crystal clear waters.
Throughout the tour, it is possible to encounter various types of wild animals that appear along the way.
The 9 stops for bathing include 5 waterfalls, 1 swimming spot with fishes, 1 jumping platform at the Poção Waterfall, 1 reel point, and 1 swimming spot with Tyrolese.
After all the energy spent getting to know and bathing in beautiful waterfalls, it is time for a lunch break.
Lunch is an included item in the tour, when purchased at full price, and is served by the attraction's staff usually around 1 pm.
The house specialty is delicious homemade food. The menu is varied and includes several typical dishes from Mato Grosso do Sul, with hot dishes, barbecue, and salads.
Visitors to Cachoeiras do Rio do Peixe are also entitled to tasty desserts, produced directly on the farm.
Right after having lunch and recovering energy, the visitor can enjoy the rest of the afternoon in Rio do Peixe enjoying the hammocks or taking pictures with the tapirs, macaws, and the little monkeys, right there in the attraction. These animals are fed by the farm staff.
The animals in this region are already accustomed to the presence of people, so it is not so difficult to get them to approach visitors.
A little later, the tour guide reorganizes the groups for another hiking session, this time passing different waterfalls than those visited in the morning.
The return to the headquarters takes place at the end of the day. At this time, the visitor takes the opportunity to change, settle any amount from consumption, and leaves back to the city.
The Rio do Peixe Waterfalls are visited by people from all over the world, from the Republic of Congo to the United States, passing through places less known by Brazilians, such as the United Arab Emirates, Ivory Coast, Cocos Islands, US Virgin Islands, South Africa, Burkina Faso, and Antigua and Barbuda.
In other words, there is no one who isn't enchanted by the place.
Considered the postcard of Bonito, the famous cave has a beautiful blue-colored lake.
A giant hole 100 meters deep, from where it is possible to observe the breeding of the red and blue macaws.
One of the most famous floats in Bonito, the attraction features a shallow river and an enchanted world below the surface.
Diving in a dolina, where the visitor can have the sensation of flying over an abyss in a lagoon that is at least 220 meters deep.
It includes an itinerary that starts at the largest waterfall in Mato Grosso do Sul and continues through other waterfalls and lakes.
The Rio do Peixe Waterfalls are located between the cities of Bonito/MS and Bodoquena/MS. Access can be made by MS 178.
You can get to Rio do Peixe by leaving the center of Bonito in the direction of Bodoquena. When you arrive at the first traffic circle, you should take the first exit to the right until the sign to Fazenda Água Viva (about 22 km). It will be another 11 km of dirt road until you reach the headquarters of Rio do Peixe. The travel time for this trip is approximately 42 minutes.
In other words, the Rio do Peixe waterfalls are about 33 km from the center of Bonito.

Excellent structure. But in periods close to rain like the one we went, the water is muddy.
